air conditioners

Does anyone here know anything about them? Specifically, what is a good brand? My AC just kicked the bucket, while I'm not too concerned with how much power it has, I want one that is quiet and filters well and is under 150$.

Last summer 2 of our a\cs kicked the bucket, They were both over 10 years old! I have an amana in our bedroom which still runs, never had to be serviced. It is noisy now but thats only happened in the last 2 years. I'd say that Amana has to be 20 years but I dont think they make them anymore.

our living room a\c went, we replaced it with a friedrich (remote controlled!), That was about 200.00,it is quiet and runs well.

A month later my sons' went. We replaced it with an LG...100.00 bucks and its just as good as the friedrich. LG also makes cell phones which we have used in the past and never had a problem. If you can find an LG go for it!

 

I just bought a kenmore fridge that was made by LG. Decent build quality, 7 year warranty on sealed system.

 

LG brand seems to be getting popular.Their cheap and work well! If you have a PCRichards by you...check it out!

 

oh yea ... pc richards, I didn't think of them, thanks. I could only think of sears for some odd reason. LGs are good huh? I saw one for 120$ fits my budget

120.00 is a good price and I think LG works well (so far). My son has the A\C on 6 months out of the year and started putting it on a few weeks ago and it seems to work just as well as last year.
Unless sears is having a good sale, I wouldnt buy any appliances there (their good prices on clothes tho) I was looking there for a VCR\DVD burner and the one I liked was out of stock so I went to Circuit City and it was a hundred bucks less! Lucky me!

 

yeah, we had decided upon the LG at the local bestbuy, then saw that Sears had the exact same model on sale under the kenmore name, with the optional ice maker. So we saved about $100, and the only difference is the name tag and who I call if it breaks.

 

You know...I maybe have walked into a Best Buy 4 times in my life...On any of those occasions I've found that they arent the best buy! LOL

 

yeah, but they have a lot of stuff side by side, so it's the best place to window shop.

 

I dont window shop....last time I did it cost me a lot of money! lol!
