Air travel with a YouRockGuitar -- hassles?

I have a midi yourockguitar (YRG) and will be traveling via commercial airlines this month. I'd like to take my YRG with me in my carry on bag (the neck detaches easily and the body is smaller than a conventional electric guitar so it will fit in a carry on easily). What I'm wondering about is whether it will be a problem when I go through screening. I don't think it's likely it will, but as it's a bit strange looking (a number of buttons along with a digital display on the side/top) and I have no idea how often the inspectors see them I wonder if anyone here has flown with a YRG as a carry on (or in a carry on bag) or has a friend who has.

Anyone know anything helpful in this regard? I really don't want to put it in my checked baggage as I worry about it being damaged or stolen and I want to be able to practice while I'm traveling away from home (I promise not to play on the plane though!). On the other hand I don't want to be told I can't carry it on and wind up having to miss my flight because I have to take it back to the parking lot and stow it in my car and then wait in line to go through security again.

Thanks and merry Xmas to all MajorGeekers!

Might want to call the airline you are going to fly with and ask them?

ive seen people carry on real guitars so i dont see why it would be an issue. my son has also carried ps3 and games on a plane in his carry on
