I use to say any imported beer was better than US of A beer. Then, I discovered microbrewries. I have switched now.

So, other than micro....I'd say my OWN home brew beers are the best!

Now, lets skip the name brands and so on and so forth. What is your favorite genre of beer?

    I love Belgian beers.

Right now, as in this very minute in time? Water.
Right now, as in recently? Mai tais.
Right now, as in what I order when I'm at the bar? Smithwicks.
Right now, as in what I bring to parties? Wine.

    :D

i'd <3 to try some of your home brewed beer... i've been an avid fan of beer since i was 15 but i still don't undertstand what all the beer genres or or how that will relate to taste...

i like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale but to me it has a "wheaty" taste to it, so i don't know what category that falls under...

    Stella Artois = Belgian beer?

and doesn't Ale classify under so many different types of beers (New Castle Brown Ale, Bass Ale)?

    I need a guide =]

I don't drink as much as I used too - but a good shot of Jack Daniels followed by a Sam Adams chaser used to get my attention . . .

Right this minute I'm enjoying the last of my Caribbean rum with the Spanish label. I have no earthly idea what it is, but I know that it's a sipping rum and tastes excellent over ice. :D

    i <3 Miller Lite too!

i'm 23, i started drinking when i was about 15 (albeit very infrequently at that age)... i never cared for the taste of Budweiser (out of a can especially), and drank mostly Rolling Rock cans as a teenager... for some reason, i went like 7 years without trying Miller Lite, go figure... I started drinking it maybe a year ago and now i'm really enjoying it... Granted i prefer to drink bottled beer, either imported or American microbrews, but when I need to save money i pick up a 30 pack of Miller Lite for $15.99... It is definitely my premium beer of choice....

Now I'm back in relativly sunny england, I'm back on the lager. Personal favourite being Stella, and I can tolerate Carling, Bud, Fosters(only just). I like Carlsburg Export. Not right now, mind you, its 11:01am, I've not finished my giganta-mug of coffee yet!

An amusing anecdote from my holiday - parents and I were sitting in the bar - I had a martini dry, mum had a brandy alexander, step dad had a capriana - and the waiter came up and asked if we wanted any more drinks. So we said "Same again", and he walked off quite happily. 5 minutes later we got a single bottle of San Miguel. We asked why, and the waiter said that we had ordered "san miguel"... no, actually we said "same again". To save this confusion again, we asked "How do you say same again in Spanish?" "San Miguel, it's beer!".

I think we found out it was something like mizmo, but who knows. Someone who speaks spanish probably!
