I have an alieware m15x and it currently has Microsoft Windows 7 on it.

I want to install Windows XP Pro (32bit), but I am having issues finding the proper drivers.

Could you possibly point me in the direction of a page offering the xp drivers I need? It would be GREATLY appreciated! :)

Also, are there xp drivers for this laptop that also make the facial recognition, etc work? Or will I be sacrificing some of the features by "down grading" to windows xp pro.

    Hi

I would say you will be sacrificing features, as Dell dont list any drivers or applications for their features for XP for that model Laptop, while we maybe able to find most drivers to get you going some we may not like facial recognition or OCD.

Windows 7 is very good and really do give it a good try. Is there reasons you wish or need to downgrade? if its incompatible applicaitons we maybe able to suggest alternative routes to getting the apps to work to alternative apps.

    Well.
I have a few reasons for downgrading.

    1. My computer is just bogged down and needs reformatted and I don't have my windows 7 cd anymore, nor can I afford to purchase a new one. (But I do still have my windows xp pro (32bit) cd)

    2. I've had windows 7 for quite some time and I just don't like it. No matter how I personalize it, its not windows xp. :)

    3. I want the laptop to run at its peak performance, I think if it had xp pro on it... it would be smoking fast with a dual core processor and 4 gb of ram.

    Hi

Fair enough, its not XP granted but for me I feel better especially with your 4GB (which you will not be able to fully use as XP 32bit like all 32bit OSes have a 4GB limit, however this is not in reference to the amount of actual ram limit it will work with but the physical addressable memory and your graphics cards ram, ACPI, PCI addressable ram etc to make up this figure, so of you have the default nVidia 512mb GT240m graphics card then your usagable ram drops to lower than 3.5GB, other hardware could also lower this down to nearly 3GB).

Bogged down could have been the amount of startup apps and possibly the security applications you had installed, dont know how much they cost for replacement original Win7 DVD restore disks but can check HERE, just replying to your loss of fuctionality part of your original post with the above.

As I mentioned we may never find all the drivers or ones that will fuction like the original supplied Dell ones for that model, but follow the below and I/we maybe able to find them, cannot guarentee it though (a difficult one will be the SATA driver as your laptop doesnt have a floppy drive and XP doesnt allow like Windows 7 the SATA driver to be installed off USB or CD/DVD)
