alienware laptop m1700 series

    loaded windows 7 with usb flash and worked. It will not load up without keyboard. I tried an external keyboard and it still will not work. It seems to load the bios but I can not access due to keyboard failure. It seems that the usb ports are not working or missing a driver.

    It appears the internal keyboard has failed and needs to be replaced. Is the laptop still under warranty? If it is, call Dell. If it's not, OUCH! I've heard of Alienware keyboards costing $450 US.

    The external USB keyboard wouldn't have worked to get to Setup from the POST screen. USB loads after Windows.
