Hello, Does anyone have experience with Alienware password set up?
I have set up a windows password and what I thought was a BIOS password, but it isn't because it says enter admin or system password . Which means you can enter either one. I also think there is a third password because in the BIOS settings, it names system, admin, and neither of these are the windows passwords I believe.

I just want to know how to set up a password that my son cannot hack. He has gotten on the computer multiple times and doesn't know the passwords.

Is there a bypass to this system? He said he can get on no matter what I change it to. I am confused.

    Please help.

    Thanks!

There is a way to bypass any Windows or user password. It is called Linux. Anyone with physical access to your computer can get into it by running linux from a USB stick or CD/DVD.
I've seen people put in BIOS passwords and forget them. They end up locking themselves out of the computer. Then you can throw the computer away because a BIOS password is next to impossible to break and if you forget it, your only option is to keep trying passwords. That's why I don't recommend going that route.

The better option is to figure out a way to physically lock the computer with a padlock.
I was looking for some sort of locking kit but none lock access to the power button. That's what you want - make it impossible for your son to push the power button and turn on the computer.

Another option: punishment. If your son goes on your computer, remove internet access for a day.
Unplug the modem and router and lock them in the trunk of your car or in a cupboard that only you have the key to.
Unfortunately, you'll also have no internet access.

    Someone might have better options.

Lock your computer in a safe.
If someone breaks into the safe, phone the Police.
