all files download to...

The dialog box says "all files download to desktop" when downloading files. How do I change this to another folder?

Half way down, there's a place where you can choose where to download things to.

Just click Browse, and navigate to wherever you want files downloaded to.

 

Thanks for reply, but there is not a browse option. "Download" is clickable, but it just opens the desktop folder in a window.

 

When you click save it should come up with a dialog box that will let you select where it goes. What OS is this?

 

goto tools->options->downloads

in 'download folder' section click on browe and select the place where u want ur downloads to be placed.... click ok

 

I use XP. Where is tools?

 

If you are using Internet Explorer it looks like you have to edit the registry.

 

if u use firefox...
u can find tools in the menu bar.
i guess for IE, they must have tools in the menu bar

 

I don't believe IE has the equivalent to tools->options->downloads in Firefox. With IE, choosing to Save a download opens a Save As panel which will let you navigate to any folder.

 

You could get a download program. Whic as well as letting you change this option, will let you have a lot more control over every little thing. And also speed up your downloads a bit.

I use Free Download Manager, Id reccomend it to anyone. Top piece of freeware. There are loads others too like FlashGet and Fresh Download.
