Download all that you want from the home pages suggested must have's and copy them to a cd.

yeah that prolly works, but the the problem is im lazy, i used to do it that way but i never had energy to update all the apps and download them again, so i have cds of all these old apps, i was hoping there was a group that was doing a desktop cd like for a boot cd we have ultimate boot cd, just so that the releases stay current and its less work on my part

call me lazy, i know i am :/ i guess i just dont feel like updating like 50 apps every time they release a new version

If it's for diagnostics, I wouldn't worry about updating very often ... I'm still using JV16 powertools the ORIGINAL!!! Before he started selling it ...works just fine. And most (like adaware) ...will update as soon as you install it.

As TimW suggests, vist MG's Must have downloads, at

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/page.php?id=20

and save the page as HTML or MTML (?), as a record of the best free stuff available here.

Unfortunately any CD put out will immediately be out of date by new stuff or updates.

A lot like buying a new computer. It is immediately superseded by someone elses bigger better smaller faster cheaper one.

I save all my downloads in a Downloads folder, irrespective of version, so I can go back to older versions if need be. If the new version is the same name as the old one I either rename the new one as ....2.exe or ...2.zip, etc., or wipe the old version. That way I have all my programs, current and old ones in the one place, on my hard drive. No need to burn a CD or DVD. Bazza

So true either way you will always have to update the AV and Spyware/Adware programs to obtain the latest definitions, but in most cases this won't even prob be necassary.

Heres a couple of links I don't know exactly whats on them but they may help:
