    Hi,
I cannot figure this out for nothing. We just got a new computer (well its several years old, but new to us). Whenever I play any audio on the computer, it sounds real high pitched, kinda like chipmunks, but it's not any faster than it normally would be. If I play a CD, it plays it at the correct speed, it just sounds real high pitched. The windows sounds like logging on and such are all higher pitched than normal as well.
I do know that the sound card is integrated in the mb, and i've tried uninstalling the device (from device manager). it uses the standard windows driver. also dont have a mb cd with drivers on it so i can't load new drivers. Also don't have internet there at that computer (Im at work now).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds to me like someone has been playing with the sound drivers EFFECTS. many sound cards have the ability to do whats called "Key Change" or "Pitch Shift" this effectively raises or lowers the pitch of any sound without changing its duration. You really need the device settings console for the audio driver on the mobo so you can check all the settings, either that or some third party software is doing the pitch change. lol
