    Hi Guys,

Thank you so much for putting up such a wonderful site. My computer was infected with mssearchnet.exe about 6 hours ago. I followed every steps you posted and fixed the problem.

My question is, can I now safely turn the "restore point" option back on? I am afraid that the trojan is still in some of the told restore points. Please give me some instructions. Again, thank you so much!!

If system restore has been turned off, there are no restore points to restore to. That is why we have you disable system restore after cleaning. It removes the restore points. And then you enable system restore to start saving restore points again.

Are you sure you are clean? You really should have ran the below:

Smitfraud, SpySheriff, SpyAxe & PSGuard Removal

    Good morning sir,

I did run smitRem.exe. And highjack this did not pick up anything that's listed. I said the problem is fixed because the trojan used to redirect me to a "spyware removal website" before but after I ran smitRem.exe it's no longer doing that. In other words, it appears to me that the trojan has been removed.

    A few more thing:
First, I didn't find any of the following so I didn't uncheck them:
    Security Info
    Warning Message
    Security Desktop
    Warning Homepage

Furthermore, I actually ran Panda ActiveScan before I ran smitRem.exe because I didn't find the smitRem.exe link you showed me until I have already gone through all the "READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support" steps. That being said, Panda ActiveScan did pick up mssearchnet.exe when I ran the scan, but again, I ran smitRem.exe after I ran Panda ActiveScan and I believe that the trojan has been removed (since I am no longer being redirected to another webpage).

Do you think I am safe now? Thank you. :)

PandaActiveScan is a scan only too. It does not fix anything.

You should post the smitfiles.txt log.
