am i done?

i have a amd 3000+ 64 socket 754... its at 2.21 from 2.0... and i was wondering .. when i go a little higher then prime 95 gives an error... i have very cool temps 36-38 idle and 50 gaming in celcius... so what gives am i done or what will do the trick my memory voltage is all the way up... help!

What is the natural FSB of the 3000 you have? And whats the new setting? (I.E is it a "newcastle" or "venice" e.t.c).

Make sure the memory and CPU are running 1:1 in the BIOS and up the voltage to the CPU in little increments and then test the stability. If the FSB you have set it too is over 200MHZ then put a little more voltage into the memory so it can run in sync. Keep upping these elements until it is stable. This is likely to increase the temps quite a bit so make sure you keep an eye on them.

Its a newcastle and the normal fsb is 200 i have it at 221 right now. I have the memory voltage all the way up which is one step up from original settings which is 1.65 i believe.

 

kingston value ram makes a difference too. its not the best for overclocking ability. tried it on mine and got to 219 stable on mine. changed with a friend for a few days and got it up to 225 with crucial mem.

 

if this is true (not saying its not) then what is the best memory to get for overclocking?

 

probably ocz or something along those lines not all ram is created equal
