   I recently had to re-install my whole machine due a virus. I've installed Adaware - whcih ran fine. Unfortunatly spybot won't run - I go to the section to update as prompted and then it freezes whilst it checks fro updates.
   
   Can anyone suggest a remedie?

   That's normal behavior caused by a download server. Just change download servers until you find you that is working. Yes, it is annoying.
