AMD 3000 Running at 1.3 Ghz? Weird

OK, I opened the case and looked on the chip. It said "AXDA3000DKV4D" and "27493" which is the processor that comes with this machine. It's an EMachines T3092. Here's the problem: It only shows 1.3 Ghz. I installed all the drivers for it. What could be the deal? Thanks.

here's a link I found out that it wasn't a swap. It's supposed to be the one that came with the tower.

EDIT: i'm thinking i should check the BIOS. duh.

 

Hmm, I had a 3000+ and that ran at 1.8GHz. However, the rig was built by me with an ASUS mobo. I don't know the eMachines, would they throttle down because of heat or power savings?

 

Agree with above check the BIOS for Thermal and Power saving features.

Use SuperPi or a CPU benching tool to load it up and see if the CPU speed scales up to actual rated (use CPU-z).

 

i checked the bios. nothing. the cpu settings were greyed out. took out cmos battery. this makes no sense. i took the processor out and looked at it myself. it's the right processor. even on the splash screen it says amd athlon 1300 mhz. i am dumbfounded. going to try cpuz.

i thought when i bought this computer setup for cheap that they must have swapped out the cpu, then i looked at it today and it's marked like the 2.1 ghz one is. the same one that came w/ the setup. ugh...
