AMD 3700 to 2.8ghz

i got a neo2 plat and a 3700+ and most people are able to get it up to 2.8 or so easy. I have great cooling as it's at 20C's right now and a gig of ram. I will hit 2.6 fine but anything over that becomes unstable. I've tried what i think is everything. Can someone give me a suggestion?

 

Where overclocking gives you some speed enhancements it degrades the lasting effects of the processor and other components wear more quickly as with amd there processors run hotter than intel so be careful I have destroyed an amd board once and it was a capacitor that blew due to heat.

 

Sure it degrades it, but really who has a processor for more then a year or two these days?(I rotate mines every 6-8months on two of my PCs) AMDs run cooler then Intels.

*cough.. prescott....cough* http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif from what iv read about what studies thare are on the subject Overclocking degrades life span by 10 to 20 % ( depending on running temp..) So if the CPU lasts 5 years normaly it will last 4 to 4.5 years...


Ya change the voltage any ??
