Yea uh actually have u seen any of the Toms hardware guide videos the processor is actually normal at those temps. The FX is actually also hotter so yea but I would recommend just to be safe and so you can have some fun, get another cpu fan since well the stock just really doesn't cut it in my books ya know. munky4745's opinion. ;).

    HI! Welcome to MajorGeeks!

I would make sure you have the HSF seated correctly. If it is off by any way it could disrupt the heat distrubution.

Also make sure you have at least a fan in the front of the case, blowing air in, and i fan in the back to suck air out. Your HSF needs cool air to blow on the heatsink.

    stallion,

I have to agree with the others, the AMD 64 do run hot and the stock fan just does not cut it. If you really want to cool that CPU chip down, go liquid cooled. There are some great internal systems by such companies as ThermalTake, and Coolance, and if you want silent and external, Zalman is the way to go. There is a goo review of the the Zalman Reserator 1 HERE

This is my first rig so im not into water cooling right now thanks...yes im sure my HSF is seated properly im about to change it around to see if its installed the wrong way but im positive its not..I dont really want to get a new fan although it seems like ill have to because it voids the warranty but then i cant use it without a zalaman..

Just get a new cpu fan ya know just to be safe since well what's the use of owning a processor if you cannot even run it. Next time, try going oem since it they company only gives you the processor and you purchase the fan by uself ya know.

The down side to going OEM is you loose the warentee. I am glad i had my warentee when my 2400 died out. I think its worth the extra 10 bucks. ;)

Ouch man!! Yea I purchased my Radeon 9800pro OEM and you get around 14 days to send it back. Also You can purchase a additional warranty if you want.

Re: AMD 64 3200 overheating!! How I fixed it

I have a Kn8-gnnxp motherboarth and a AMD 64 bit 3200... When One day I looked down and it was running 60c at idle. I immediantly went out and got a syringe of silver thermal compound, scraped away the old compound in between the heatsink and processor and replaced it with 5 grams from the syring.I stayed with the stock fan. I also got a pci mounted fan to blow suck air out and blow to outside the case. Along with the other 7 fans in the case. My tempatures immediantly jumped from 60-65 C..to 32-37 Celcius...Not as low as i would like but a big big difference.
