AMD Athalon Processor

My mother-in-law gave me a computer. It has an AMD Athalon processor. I am not familiar with this kind of processor. How does it rate when compared to a Pentium?

Use EVEREST, that will tell you what the hardware is etc.

If you want someone to double-check everything, post the log here as an attachment. (don't copy and paste the log, only attach it)

I have the info, I think. It says AMD Athalon (tm) 1000 Mhz. Does that sound right? Do you know what type of Pentium this is equivalent to, if any?

No question is stupid if you don't know the answer, so never think that.. ask away alwasys

but to answer the question, that would be a Pentium III as the P4's started at 1.4ghz in speed.
