amd athlon not running to standard

my amd athlon xp 2500+ is supposed to run at 1.83 gHz but is only running at 1.09...ive checked it twice and even maxed performance options in bios to improve the porblem but nothing is working. please send a reply wih either an answer or a driver update that could fix this problem

here are my pc specs for anyone asking:

processor- amd athlon xp 2500+ 1.83 gHz
motherboard- asus a7 something deluxe
case- raidmax
ram- 1.5 gb
video- egeForce 6800 128 mb ddr

In bios set your fsb to 166 save and exit

no i mean be more specific on how to fix the problem in BIOS please, i really need to fix this b/c running at 1.09 sux! i need at least a 2.0 processor to hewlp with my new video card, so we just saw this and we need exactly how to fix it. nice specs i might ad as well!

Be more specific if u dont mind on where in BIOS to find "fsb" and whats its under please! thanks so much

 

Check your manual there is a cpu-fsb jumper set it to pins 1&2.

Then enter bios by hitting the delete key at boot up, goto advanced chipset features, then change the external cpu frequency to 166, then change the cpu frequency multiple setting to 166

Make sure you save and exit.
