   I'm a musician and I'm upgrading my computer. I'd like to know in clear the difference between these 2 cpu and the effect it would have on my system

   The 3700+ is faster
   
   Thats the biggest difference. It has more L2 cache, as well.
   
   If I were a musician, I would look into the X2 CPUs.
