I have downloaded a document in Adobe PDF format and opened it in Adobe Acrobat Reader. However, I am unable to save it to my PC. I receive the error message: The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (110) (cf. attached image). Does anyone understand this error? Is there a solution to it?

Is it possible to go back to the host page's link, mouse over and right click and select "save link (target) as ..."

Thanks for your reply. I have attached an image showing you the options I get when I right-click the link. The closest, I believe, is 'Save Link As ...'. I have tried that option but it only allows me to save it as a link to an HTML document rather than as a PDF file.

I've found in the past if I do a single left-click on a link that leads to a PDF file a menu opens up asking me if I want to open the document or save it and other options, which I do not remember because I've never used them. So, it does seem this document is behaving in an unusual manner.

If you can open the document in your browser, check if you can then save it.

I am not 100% sure what you meant; however, you gave me an idea. This is how I solved it:

When I clicked on the link from a Google search it opened directly as a PDF file in Acrobat Reader. So, I went to Settings and changed the default application for opening PDF files to Firefox.

I then clicked the link again and it opened in Firefox. I then clicked to download it and so it went to my Download folder.

I then changed the dafault app for PDF files back to Adobe Acrobate Reader. The file would open in Reader but I stilll got yhe 101 error message when I tried to save it.

Therefore, I 'cut' the PDF document from Downloads and 'pasted' it in the folder where I wanted to store it. It's in that folder, effectively saved there, it opens and I can read it.

A bit of faffing but in the end I've have the document.

    Thanks for all the advice.
