I recently noticed that in the Program Files folder there are two folders named "xerox" and "microsoft frontpage" that I cannot delete when running the computer under normal circumstances, but can temporarily delete when running in safe mode. I have reason to believe that the folders may be there because of a malware of some sort, please help?

Neither are malware ....I will let others tell you what they are related to....(Thread moved to software).

    Hi

Xerox folder is normally always empty and used by the system process WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) used for transfering digital images or scans etc, this folder if deleted will re-create itself on reboot. ( zero byte folder iirc and uses so little space it is not registering )

Frontpage is due to web folder browsing built into XP iirc so basically you could if you have access, browse the folders of a website created in FrontPage.

They are not an issue or cause any problems, both are installed as default on XP.
