Annoying HP add-ons

Purchased a new HP all-in-one printer, and after installation have an unwanted Yahoo toolbar plus a HP "Smart web printing" sidebar on my screen. How do I get rid of these? I don't need them and I don't want them.
Any help would be appreciated

You have to read those installer screens carefully these days. Seems everyone tries to get you to agree to a "free" toolbar during software installation.

Check Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel for the yahoo toolbar and anything by HP that looks unnecessary. Big companies like HP usually make uninstall fairly easy.

Hi

I know what you mean with OEM PCs, I tend to only get Laptop/Netbooks from OEM and build my own desktops, but on the Lap/Net machines the junk they install from 3rd parties due to geting a cash kickback is enormous at times.

One app to use is PC Decrapifier and this will give you a list of the junk that OEMs install, but do go down the list and make sure their are no apps you may want to keep.

You can also stop many of the apps like HP Smart Printing from starting with your PC as they will be listed in the startup list, so in part you dont have to uninstall them just disable them from starting and use the Standalone version of StartupCPL

Download and install Revo Uninstaller.

Open the program and give Revo time to find everything installed. Are the Yahoo toolbar and the HP Smart web printing items showing in Revo? If so, you can uninstall them using Revo.
Post back and I will note things to be careful about when using Revo to uninstall anything.
