I am selling one of my older computers, and see that the athlon 64 754pin processors prices have really come down due to them being phased out and the 939 taking over. It says that the processors and boards support ddr 2100,2700,3200, I have a gig of ddr2100 left over , my question is how would it perform with this speed of ram in it. It will be for only a second computer and nothing really intensive. I could stay with socket A but would rather move up to the 64 bit since the price is almost the same. Thanks for any info.

2100 should be fine for surfing the net and similar apps .... I use a 1.4GHz celeron and PC100 RAM to surf the net and I don't notice much of any speed difference between this PC and the one in my sig .. at least as far as surfing the net i mean ... lol ... gaming is whole new topic :p
