I have gone through the threads here and tried almost everything. I have a computer background so I can usually figure these things out on my own. However, this About:Blank is a nasty one that refuses to leave. Here is what I have done so far (numerous times):

Ran the following programs: (all have the latest ref files, etc)
    adaware
    spybot
    trendmicro
spydoctor (which I purchased in desperation and it didn't work)
    about buster
    hijack this
    crap cleaner

Additionally, I ran all these again in safe mode removing files as instructed. I even removed one really stubborn entry from the registry itself. But, as many of you already know, there is something embedded deep in the hidden files and when I reboot it just brings everything flooding back. I have now resorted to using my secure work system so I can troubleshoot my infected home computer.

My home pc is currently unplugged from the internet in an effort to prevent further infestation.

This is the worst "bug" I have encountered to date and if I don't resolve it soon I will have no choice but to reformat the hard drive as a last resort.

If anyone can offer feedback on this problem I would greatly appreciate a second opinion here. I will check back later this afternoon.

    Thanks!!

    Tee

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99.1 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis log as an attachment to your message (Do not post the log inline). All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT
