we have a very bad record for accidents here and mostly the younger drivers 18 to 25, the most popular car here for the young is the Volkswagen small sporty type then they try to drive it like a Ferrari with the inevitable consequences also the majority of these accidents happen between 11pm and 03.00 when the boy racers are on their way home from night clubs.http://bestsmileys.com/drinking/4.gif

my personal opinion is the penalties are not strong enough to deter the bad driving for instance drink driving can result in just leaving your car where the police have stopped you and get a taxi home to a court appearance where you would consider yourself unlucky if you were banned for 2 WEEKS yes you did read that correctly so where is the deterrent in that!!!!

the police do not seem to care about prevention more the apprehending of miscreant drivers as an easy form of revenue if you call them to a break in at your house the response time is much less(that's a completely different rant)
