Just got done with putting this together and I would like to transfer all the info from the old HD to the new one. I can hook it up via a USB port, but I want to know what issues I will have with the new componets and the old OP system [Win XP]
ASUS M4N78 Pro GeForce 8300 Socket AM2+ Motherboard
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Socket AM2 CPU
320 GB Seagate Sata Hard drive
    Kingston HyperX 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz (2x2048)

What is the new Operating system and what components were changed?

I will be installing the same OP system [Win XP from the same disk] that is on the old HDD. The new componets are a new Mobo,CPU,HDD and new memory. Everything is new except for the PSU.

May need to track down some drivers , but for sure, with that many changes, Windows will need to be re-activated.That should be your biggest problem.
Your machine will NOT be recognized by Microsoft due to the component differences.
