First off, ill say i like to think i am good with my computer, im not a whiz though.........I read through other threads regarding people who had the same error message and what was said to them confused me.

I am running winxp on an emachine. Im sure additional info is needed but I dont know what else.

The problem just started occuring about two days ago....my pc will just restart after being on for 2 mins or so. So i went into my settings and adjusted the 'auto shut off' thingy so now i get a blue screen and it tells me my problem.

What confuses me most is that my roomate also has access to the pc - i am under her log in now........and it works fine! I dont get it.
I defragged in safe mode lastnight, i ran norton, spybot and adaware and its still not working.

I havent installed anything new, hardware or software in months.

    Help

OK well first off. It's nice of you to tell us you can see the error message, but it would have really helped a lot more if you had actually told us what it was.

However, do to the fact that it works from a diffrent login, the problem is most likely caused by something that runs when the computer starts up. Of course most of this stuff should be the same regardless of the user. In fact the only startup stuff that I think are diffrent would have to be located in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Start Menu\Programs\startup

So I'd suggest just looking through there and if you've got something she doesn't. Delete it.

Also, if that doesn't work, you can just make yourself a new account and delete your current account. Once that is done you can even copy over your my documents folder and not lose anything in the process.

I compared startup folders and i had both openoffice and verizon dsl help - i deleted both and the same thing still happens, boom, shut down.

This is the message i get:

    Page fault in nonpaged area

If this is the first time youve seen this stop error, restart.
If you have seen this before, check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask manufacturer for updates. If problem continues, disable or remove software/hardware.
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

    Technical Information:

    Stop: 0x00000050

    (0xed3ff002, 0x00000000, 0x8054af32, 0x00000001)

    memory dump etc etc.

I dont know bios from general tso's chicken.........

I hope this helps you help me.

    Thanks in advance :)
