    Hey Guys,

Had my surgical follow up appointment with the gastroligist, I had to sign the yellow form that says I am willing to have an Endoscapy's, I think that is where they put the camera down your throat, If it is, I had 2 of them while I was in ICU when I suddenly started vomitting huge amounts of blood, that's when they found the stomach ulcer and hole in the stomach, and that I had torn my obsofokis, yeah, ouch! scared the flippin heck outtah me!

Well got to get another to check on my ulcers, and hole in the stomache, they think that my acid in my stomache is causing more ulcers, thus giving me the greif of extra pain, if so they can do something, if not, then they`ll have to find out via another avenue.

Well, I`ll let you know how it goes, hopefully we can start closing the lid on these problems so I can get on with things.

    Cheers,

    David

Hey, I hope this one comes back clean man!:cool They did test you for Helicobacter pylori right? Just checking.:)

Whats that one? you lost me, I wasn't told about that sort of test, although this time they are checking for cancer, as a few issue's have come up with me since my ICU admission, and I have been asked if I have had it, but I don't even know how to get tested for it, in particular, stomach cancer, and bowel cancer, which they`ll check for when they do the endoscapy apparently.

    :(

The other thing that has fallen by the way side is the Holter Monitor, a referral was put in months ago because I was getting severe palpatations, which they put me on Valium for, and I have rang up the private hospital that deals with the holter monitor for a 24 hour course, basically straps to my belt, and records my heart rate in everyday life, and try and find out the cause of the palpations, I`ll have to ring them again monday, as it can't keep getting swept under the carpet, and treated with the, "She`ll be right" attitude, which I am getting severly fed up with, its a classic tune with the royal darwin hospital, they won't do anything until its either too late, or something bad happens first, before they take you seriously, which affects my care as a patient! sadly their is only 1 hospital in darwin, for better treatment I would need to move to another state, and I cannot afford my regular meds, let alone to move the family!

Here's a wiki about Helicobacter pylori. I'd assume if they asked you if you had it before, then they took a biopsy with one of those endoscopes. Ask your doctor. If it was the H. pylori then I'd expect you to be on anti-biotics if this was a simple case. I'm not a doctor, just a patient who was lucky enough to go the non-surgical route.

Well I am just waiting on a call for them asking me to come in as an out patient to do it, as far as I can gather from the Dr that organised it, they are checking for any new Ulcers, also the large bowel, due to bleeding sometimes, and for cancer, any think else that may or may not pop up, they won't really let me know until after I am awake, they are knocking me out for this one, as I gag, especially when I had the breathing tube, they woke me up a little to test me and I choked, I don't remember it though, that whole ICU admission is warped and I don't like reminding myself of it.

I just want to look forward to the future, get my health worked out, I have a pain management clinic appointment hopefully soon, so they can decide what I should and shouldn't be on, that way I don't run into any more problems in regards to my medication, cause the pain clinic is the last word, what they recommend happens, and that includes S8 meds which seem to be locked down alot where I live, apparently becuase of druggies, I don't see it though, I only ever got a buzz once, that was when I first had it, after that, I never got it again, Morphine however, now I can see why that is addictive, but not endone, doesn't do it for me, I don't know if it is because of other meds I am on supressing the 'High' or what, but I just feel ripped off in that area, especially with all the hassle I have to jump through hoops for, just to get it! Ridicoulse!

Cheers and thanks for the best wishes, will let you guys know the outcome in this thread!

    Dave
