I guess I'm another of the many users that seems to have the Google redirecting problem. My problem doesn't quite as severe as some other users. It is simply a redirecting on the Google search results. No blue screens or blocked downloads. I would certainly appreciate any help. I believe I have followed the steps correctly in the Windows XP cleaning procedure. Thanks... Blaine012

It would appear that at this time I am no longer having a problem with the Google redirecting after following the 5 clean up steps. I have tired several searches on Google and none were redirected. Can't tell you how happy that makes me!! Could someone still check out my logs when they have a free moment to see if anything looks like I should clean it out. Thanks once again...... Blaine012

A few comments. First, it is a very bad idea to allow all users to have Admin. privileges!! You should set one as Admin. and limit the others.

You have two AV programs running:
    McAfee
    IObit Security 360
    uninstall one!!

What is this on your desktop:
    C:\Documents and Settings\blaine\Desktop\3wdfuoo6.exe

You need four times the amount of RAM that you have:
    Total Physical Memory 383.48 MB
    Available Physical Memory 58.92 MB

You are also running out of hard drive space.

I strongly advise you to cleanup your Desktop. Remove everything but links to run programs. Do not download and save programs here and definitely do not use it for long term storage. You need to keep ComboFix.exe here for now as we need it, but we will be removing it when we are finished with your cleanup. A cluttered Desktop is malware's playground and it can also cause performance degradation especially when you start saving large files here like you are doing.

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Please Disable Spybot's TeaTimer --> Should have been done as per the R&R instructions!

    * Run Spybot and click Mode
    * Select Advanced Mode.
    * Then click Tools and select Resident.
    * Now in the right window pane, uncheck TeaTimer.
    * Also while this is open, in the left column now select IE Tweaks
    * and then in the right pane make sure all the Miscellaneous locks are unchecked.
    * Now quit Spybot!

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

First, thank you once again for the help you give to so many! Orbit has been removed. I never thought I had Tea Timer enabled and when I check it appears to be off? The exe. program on my desktop, 3wdfuoo6.exe, was a program I was using to try to remove my problem before coming to Major Geeks. It is has been deleted. Adding the text to the registry worked with no problem. Thanks again for all the help you are giving me.

    You are most welcome.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real-time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore ato create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
