Is there anyway to prevent Win2000Pro from 'saving settings' on a re-boot? Or at least decrease the time it takes? I just re-formatted and re-installed Win2000Pro and before that it only took about 1 1\2 minutes to 'save settings' and re-boot. Now the time is over 3 minutes and I have not installed any additional software. Any suggestions? THANKS!!

    start..run.type GPEDIT.MSC and hit enter

then drill down to where my image points and enable that policy and set it for like 5 and reboot.

Well Kodo, there's only one thing I can say about that little procedure....Damn, IT WORKS!!! (but you already knew it would, huh?!) And quite well I might add. My re-boot time has been reduced considerably. I used the number '5' like you suggested and was just wondering what that number represented? It's really not important, but I'm just curious. Thank you for not only telling me how to do it, but also for SHOWING me how it's done. Your extra effort was very much appreciated :D

when you shutdown, windows tries to unload your profie n times per second.. the default is 60. Changing it to 5 reduces the time by reducing the number of retries.
