Anti Trojan Shield Troubles

I downloaded the Anti Trojan Shield program from here, because I was having troubles.
It scanned only 35 files, and told me all was well, which was ridiculous.
But when I uninstalled it, it removed my Norton Firewall, and my "Clean My PC" popup blocker (the best free popup blocker I've ever used).

Now Norton Tech is telling me I must uninstall everything and do a clean install to get it working again, and Clean My PC is just gone from the net.
So I am online naked, with no defense at all, because of Anti Trojan Shield.

Any ideas, other than shooting whoever wrote that program?

 

Something new. ATS shield also knocked my multimedia keyboard back about 3 months in its memory.
It once again has hot keys for things I deleted, and used the keys for new things, months ago.

 

Yet another strange thing. This one was great for a few minutes.
I have an extremely long "favorites" list, and for a short time it was alphabetized, rather than in the order I added the sites.
I loved it, but now I am back to random again.
What the devil did this ATS Shield do to me?

 

You should probably unistall ATS if it is giving you and your system problems.

Um, he already did..that's why he posted.

I've never used the program myself,but I can't imagine an uninstall being that invasive.

I did uninstall it. That's when all the troubles started. It did all sorts of ugly things to my system, as noted in the previous comments. I don't know what else I will find.

It's scary as hell to be online with DSL, and without any kind of defense, so the viruses, etc can download in about 3 seconds

 

OK, I am still finding more neat stuff. It has gone back and deleted one of my Windows "hotfix" updates, as well.
