Anti-virus

Hey, help!

What's everybody's opinions on the best anti-virus and spyware for a personal home computer? My budget's about zero dollars. lol

 

avg i used this one on all my pc's

avast tried it liked it but i use avg

pc tools never tried this one

i use avast as well and has been keeping me safe for years, i'm not really very fond of anti virus software that you have to pay for, i hear they create the virus themselves and infect you on purpose, i think it's to get you to switch to their most expensive editions

Avast Anti Virus Free, Online Armor Free. There are also programs like Sandboxie and Steady State, but haven't tried either. Live CD's run in system RAM, surf the web without the use of the hard drive if you like, or even if one is not present on the computer. The best security software is inside the head of the operator of the operating system. :-D

 

I personally use Comodo Internet Security( firewall and AV), SuperAntiSpyware,MalwareBytes, SpywareGuard,SpywareBlaster, and WinPatrol.

 

Avast on the Vista Beast, Avira Antivir on the wimpy XP laptop and back-up XP gaming computer.

 

AVG Free (without safe search re I use WOT with Firefox), SpywareBlaster, SUPERantispyware and MalwareBytes. Update and scan with the last two every week. SpywareBlaster just needs to be updated. It prevents malware.
