Antialising and Anisotropic filtering help!!!

    Hi i have a Nvidia GeForce 5900 se and antialiasing settings and anisotropic filtering are at aplication controlled so it's that better or should i put it at max???

    You can play around with the settings and see what you like best, The higher they are the lower FPS youll get though... Use FRAPS to check your FPS when your testing the settings out. I only use Anisotropic filtering when i play CS because Antialising blurs out the text.

    so the higher they are the better it looks??? and what does application controlled mean???

    Yea, the higher they are the better it looks. Application controlled means that the application (game) chooses what setting they are (it usually doesnt use them unless you specify in the options menu that you want them on).

    It means that you will use the in game menu to select how much AA and AF you want. Whether it's CS Source, BF2 or any other game, they usually have AA and AF settings.

    On a 5900 I would leave them on pretty low settings, maybe 2 and 2 or nothing at all. :eek:
