Really depends on when new viruses are discovered, could be everyday, could be every other day, just keep it set to auto update every so often and you will be ok.

Also, probably wouldnt hurt to take a look at this thread below.

i found out how. i went to insert and then schedule.i've got it set every week now.

i really appreciate your help. i also looked at the site you gave me. my friend said i had nothing to worry about cause i don't go on crazy sites but i have window updates, spyware remover, antivir . it won't hurt to be careful.

i wonder if antivir also checks for viruses on my emails. here lately i've been getting crazy emails about pills and free music. i've blocked them but keep getting other ones.

Spam has really gotten out of control lately, its tough to keep out of your mailbox. Just be careful what you open. If you dont recognize it, dont open it.

You should be ok as long as you have your windows updates and antivirus. I would recommend a firewall and possibly a spyware protection program such as SpySweeper or SpyWare Blaster. For a firewall I would stick with ZoneAlarm Free Edition as I use this and never had a problem.
