So, my sister was using my computer, and somehow got a virus that installed Antivirus 8.

I looked it up and deleted most of the registry keys and files (there were a few on the list that didn't show up on my computer), but it's still blocking most every website I try and go to, with a message saying:

"Attention! Your webpage request has been cancelled.
This web site refused your connection as it was reported as a malicious request. This can be caused by Viruses, Trojans or Malware found on your computer.
In order to resend your request to the website, press Resend request.
In order to activate your security software, please Fix Now (recommended)"

I have looked over and over on my computer, to find those items on the list that weren't there, and I can't find them.

I have been running MalwareBytes, and Microsoft Essentials (my OS is Windows XP).
Essentials comes up with no infected items, and MalwareBytes comes up with several, the number varies from 6 to about 18, every time.

I remove the infected files with MalwareBytes, but it doesn't do anything...just keeps coming up with all kinds of more infected files.

So, I looked it up some more, and read that ComboFix was a good solution. So I tried it.

It did nothing but mess up other parts of my computer.

I now get a message saying that a generic host for Win32 has a problem.

Is there a way to go back to a restore point before I used ComboFix?
I remember seeing a message at the start of it that said it was setting up restore points...

Also, if you have a way to remove the rest of whatever has infected my computer, that would be great as well.

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You should not be running ComboFix on your own to begin with. It is only meant to be run under the instruction of experts and in a structured approach as in our cleaning process

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

which takes other steps first. You can just just use System Restore if you with to return to a restore point from before using ComboFix but there is no guarantee that this will resolve the crashing of svchost.exe. This problem may be due to the malware that you have.

I suggest that you attach ( See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post ) your current log from ComboFix. And then you should follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME link. Just skip running ComboFix while running the READ & RUN ME.
