Antivirus/Spyware updates not workng

Hi all

Having managed to get back on the net, I've tried in vain to update AVG antivirus defs, spybot and a whole host of other software to no avail, I cannot even find AVG update manager to check the settings, something is preventing it, anyone any ideas, could be some sort of virus or something like it, have already ran and removed loads of viruses and spyware using the MajorGeek fix, but just cannot update anything, wasn't sure if this should be in the software section or malware so sorry if wrongly posted.

What did you do to remove said malware ....I suspect that the malware is not completely removed. You may wish to start a thread in the malware section outlining what you have done and what is still happening (be sure to attach the requested scans).

Thanks will do that, however will have to runall scans again.
