Antivirus XP Pro....Now blue screen....Help Please

I somehow got Antivirus XP Pro virus on my computer today, and tried to restart in Safe Mode, but it just boots to the black Safe Mode screen with a curser in the middle, and does nothing from there. When I try to boot normally, it shows the Windows XP logo, then goes to a blue screen with a white curser (no writing at all/no error messages). I have NO idea how to proceed, and would be extremely grateful of anyone who can help.

Ok, well, I've since tried to an XP repair install, and it makes it almost all the way through, then gives me a BSOD that says "BAD_POOL_CALLER" ***STOP: 0x000000C2 (0x00000CD4, 0x00340045, 0xE120611C) Removed and replaced memory, and tried again. Same results.

Anyone????

Welcome to Major Geeks!

Well unless your PC is bootable, it is diffcult for us to help you clean it. Doing the repair install may have messed things up more and could make the below not work.

Try using your Windows boot CD to try the below procedure to restore to a copy of your registry hives from before the time of infection
