Any Ideas?

So you guys ARE FANTASTIC, always able to help when i cant figure it out myself. Which is the situation im in now.

First, im not sure if MS Windows has their own firewall/spyware remover (little shield with red 'X' in it, and shield with yellow '!').

I haven't been able to perform any of the 'do this first' procedures because explorer.exe keeps crashing, but keeps coming back. Everytime it comes back the little red shield pops up with a bubble saying "You're computer is not protected"

I rid myself of Advanced XP Fixer via safe mode (searched for files during a time period) but now i have this. I changed the startup so that anything suspect wouldnt load at startup, but it seems it comes back (just hidden). Its locked me out of my 'All Programs' function, Control panel, Command Task, Run, and the other drives (such as my cd burner and my C:/) It either doesnt show them, or says it has been disabled by your administrator. I AM THE ADMIN!!!!

If there is a place where i should start, considering i cant do anything you recommend while in normal mode, that would be sweet, unless i missed it somewhere. You guys are great, and i know you're the place to be.

Edit - I forgot to mention right next to the time it says VIRUS ALERT! Hope that helps.

Welcome ... back? (seems like I've seen your name here before, but I could be mistaken)


You have something which can be removed... if we can get to it. Can you run Combofix and the MGTools in SafeMode? That would be my first suggestion. Or it might be possible to run Combofix from the cmd prompt:

Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required

"%userprofile%\desktop\combo-fix.exe" /killall

Let me know if any of this works? If so, please attach the logs.
