How much schooling did you need to have?
How much experience did you need for your job?
What field is better to go in?
    Any suggestions IT major?

    Hi

Alot self taught for me with some training courses thrown in, but while I'm in a tech field I dont work in our works IT dept.

But the areas I would look into are Desktop and Networking support, they are two areas that techs are always needed no matter what the company is or does.

Where are you at in schooling? are you at a point in which you need to choose a University degree course?

I am going through AA through a program, than for bachelors I will be going to our university program.
I do not know which area I want to concentrate and I don't want problems finding a job after I graduate in October 2012. I know I do want to do some tech stuff, and something else. Just so I can do some other things in a job setting. My bachelors they want you to have a job in the field (as intern) so I have a few months to decide, thinking to specialize in something though, right now it is a general major AA-IT no special.

Yeah I think the AAIT course gives you a rounded outlook on all areas of computing databases, networking, IT Support etc

As specialising guess thats a personal thing and depends on what area of computing you prefer, what I would suggest is look through the job pages for IT workers and see what may stand out as a sought after area or what looks well paid and neiche.

Can in the bachelors you choose two areas as I know the areas that our workplace always are looking out for is Desktop Support, Networking and Databases.

I didn't go to school for IT.

I went to school for Photography & Graphic Design (2 separate majors).

However, while going to college, i worked at the on-campus tech department.

This gave me the experience to get another level tech job. And I kept working my way up from job to job. I think all it takes is one job no matter how pathetic it is, but with a great title. I was a Systems Administrator for a company. I did such small stuff for them, but that title is huge on a resume.

If you like this stuff, it's great. I love troubleshooting computers that don't work.
