Any LOST Fans Out There?

(I couldn't find a similar thread anywhere, so I decided to make one... )

I was just wondering how many of you geeks out there are full-fledged (or at least closet) fans of LOST... I have to admit I didnt get into the whole craze until half way through the first season when my girlfriend forced me to watch it with her... now I cant get enough of the show, and I havent missed a single episode since then; even bought the DVD set and have ALL the episodes on my PC (Season 1 up to season 2's "Two for the Road" complete + DVD bonus features)

To top it all off, now the ABC gang started an ARG called The Lost Experience, supposed to "take LOST fans on an expansive, international easter egg hunt through websites, commercials, emails, phone numbers, and more, in search of pieces to a larger puzzle, a puzzle which, when solved, will enlighten LOST fans to some of the shows deepest mysteries..."

I may be going crazy, but it'll be cool to hear your opinions on this...

 

Got hooked during the first season, and saw all episodes thanks to their frustrating interleaved reruns- HATED that. Haven't managed to see them all this season, but still following. Will no doubt catch up during the summer re-runs.

 

I actually got started downloading them one at a time through Limewire Pro, after a couple of weeks downloading 24/7 I had all of season one and 2/3 of season 2...

I actually live in Costa Rica and my cable company for some weird reason blocks off ABC during primetime (no problem with CBS, NBC, etc... though) so I cant watch Lost ... my only other option was watching the show in this channel called AXN (where they also run CSI, Alias and other shows) but they are a couple of weeks behind... so I couldnt wait that long to catch up so I download them...

You are by law allowed to record a program on public television viewed in your home, however distributing copies of that recording is illegal. If you were to distribute copies, links where you could get copies etc. through MG's not only could you get in trouble but MG's could be held liable. [/EDIT]

 

I liked watching the first season until I realised the authors were somewhat taking the pee,you watch each episode hoping for answers,but with each more questions are posed

In the UK I'm currently up to the third episode of the second season and still I wanna know whats going on ,over here the channel broadcasting the show 'channnel 4' actually apologised for the plot and showed the second season earlier in hope of not losing fans

I'm gonna watch it but the guys who are writing it get on my nerves,I feel like a robot doing thier bidding

 

Man, Rikky, I feel you brother... I know exactly how you feel! It is sort of frustrating to be given more questions than answers, but thats part of the beauty of the show: it's so addictive... after you get over the fact that you are powerless, and that you won't fully understand the big picture until WAY later on, you just give in... and get to enjoy the plot and the million little details that you dont catch the first time around (yes trust me, theres alot of stuff that has gone over your head without you realizing... example: a little spoiler - in episode 2 that you already watched, if you can go back and look at the scene with the shark... not everything is as it seems, IOW look at the fin, muhahaha.... *evil rant*)

Here's the good news though... the first season was about character development, about discovering the island and establishing the LOST world... the second season is SO much better... at the time I couldnt believe it could get better, but trust me, it will! I actually feel a little jealous of you that you are exactly on the verge of when the show gets ridiculously good... third episode of season two is called Orientation... and man thats when the plot line thickens and everything starts falling into place... sure you will still be left with a lot of questions, but you get to know the character's backgrounds, and more detail into the island and all of the inhabitants... you have so much good stuff coming your way, its not even funny...

The one main drawback of LOST is how the episodes are aired... you get a lot of new episodes in a row, you become relaxed and learn to depend on your weekly fix (specially after ep 3 season 2) but then there are long two - three week periods where all you get is reruns or Alias specials... you literally will feel like a junky desperate for your next fix...

Anyways... my best advice is Rikky, we've all felt like you, but dont turn your back now, or you'll definitely regret it

Duly noted AbbySue, meant no harm, just trying to help out a few Lost fans... but I definitely see your point Sorry fellas' you heard the lady!

Watched the first 2 episodes of season one.
I haven't watched it since.

Far too over rated.

 

I wont try to change your mind McAdam... I mean, it's just a TV show, you're right: Lost isnt for everyone...

(Then again, you may want to give the show a shot, you've only seen the pilot: first two episodes, are actually the two-part pilot of the show)

 

LOL. The frustration is called "cliff hanger", making you wait breatlessly for the next episode each week (or several!) Not as bad as BOOKS with cliff-hanger endings where you may have to wait a year or two to see what happens next.

But cliff-hangers are not for everybody, and as mentioned, it's only a TV show. Whatever makes you smile....

It's such a good show, gets the juices flowing. It lets the watcher conclude...though the watcher never does..leaves you lost!!
Too bad that some dont agree.
Personally I get bored of true life miseries. if you know what I mean.

Sidenote: This whole thing started with the opening of The Hanso Foundation Website (...as in the Dharma Initiative's Hanso Foundation) followed by a toll-free number that aired on the primetime TV commercial ten minutes before Lost's latest episode (Two for the Road) ended. After reading the summaries, you may want to go to this site and check out what's been going on.. its entertaining to say the least.

 

I agree with McAdam , it is far to over-rated.

Although being a good show. The only real problem I have with it is ;

There is suspense , but then there's completely taking the p$!%

 

We here are also duly addicted to Lost, but also got really hooked on another show, Surface, that they now have taken off. Really loved that show. It will probably never be back.
