We’re working on a Macintosh expansion now - Mac.Majorgeeks.com (appropriately enough). It’s about at Beta 2 now and we’re looking for some people to kick the tires on it and make sure we aren’t missing any must have software. That sort of thing.

    Thanks!

    I'd add MacJanitor:

    http://personalpages.tds.net/~brian_hill/macjanitor.html

    I didn't find it listed.

    Fink Commander
    http://finkcommander.sourceforge.net/

Its a GUI frontend for Fink.

    ATI displays:

    Darwinports:

    http://darwinports.opendarwin.org/

An alternative to Fink. It is very similar.

    Shutterbug

Not sure if this would fit or not, but its quite popular for OS X:

    Eclipse

    Little Snitch

    Mellel

    AbiWord

You guys have really covered your bases, I had to stretch to find those that I could think of. Of course, being relatively new to the Mac world my self...I'm sure there is more. Off to an awesome start though.

splitt3r You are now the victim of a drive by title change

maybe I would like macs a bit more if I didn't have to use that ancient on in 7th grade, gah, it was horrible, it deleted all my stuff after 3 months of work!!!! and it was constantly crashing.I dunno though, the emac I had in 8th grade with OSX wasn't as bad, I kinda liked it, but I will probably always stick with windows, I am a huge gamer so I need the compatability, also the good macs are way to spendy.

    STOP!

I think you find that this is a thread about mac.majorgeeks.com, not about why you don't like macs! Sorry to sound rude but we don't want this topic to derail, and thats very easy with the mac vs windows topic aka the "never ending flame war" ;) being introduced

Hopefully when I go to uni I'll be using a mac (I'm gunna do a good bit of video/multimedia production) so having a big archive of these tools will be invaluble :)

have to say nice critic Adryn, to say that you had to stretch to find extra stuff goes to prove Jim and Tim have put alot of effort into that new site just like they do with all the MG stable of sites *thumbs up*

Good to see Major Geeks (finally) has a Mac portal!

I used to go to www.versiontracker.com/macosx for all my Mac software.
Perhaps Major Geeks could get some inspiration there? ;)
