Just up the road about 20 miles. Lots of people from all over the globe have come here to see this. Wonder if any of you have made it. A work in progress over the past decades, and still continues as I type. What is interesting where you reside?

And a couple more. Not smart enough to figure out how to put them all in one post.

awesome bridge to live next to. Once had a girlfriend from Edinburgh, a long, long time ago. wish I had the time left to see some of the British isles. Australia wouldn't be bad either. but I'm sure there are places near to where everyone lives that they take for granted on a daily basis but really are kind of unique. I have lived in colorado for 40 yrs and driven all throughout the western states for the same amount of time, but never took the time to just see what was in my own backyard (e.g. lived 1 mile from the air force academy, for years, and never visited it until the company I worked for got a contract to supply concrete to their construction contractors). Anyway, I think I've missed a lot and I'll bet everyone else has too. Bishop's Castle www.citynoise.org/article/846 is the place up the highway from us and never saw it until about 15 years ago. It is an ongoing piece of construction and I only wish digital cameras had been around earlier. Gives you a chill when you watch 5 year olds crawling around all over the top of it!

Chicago is the proud owner of a 23 million $ Bean aka Cloud Gate Sculpture. Last I heard it cost 700,000 to polish it. But to its' credit it sits in a 500 mil. park. You wouldn't want to place an expensive bean just anywhere now, would you?

Nice looking Bean, but I would rather have had 500 mil. put in our schools which need help.

Info on park & typical chicago project cost overruns :hammer gotta love our politics

some great sites. don't know what a "chav" is. Love the "bean" in chicago. Denver spent a ton similarly at their new airport back in the nineties. Had to decorate the train tunnels with thousands of mini propellers on the walls that would spin with the turbulence created by the moving trains. Picture the round caps with beanies on top from years ago. And to think they only had to spend around a couple of hundred dollars for each one. God, what buttheads!!
But if it would only inspire one gifted child.......wouldn't it be worth it?

I'm 20 miles from Central London so anything there really.

Also, the only Ovaltine factory in Europe (stopped producing now) is a few minutes away - http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/272923

Sadly it's stopped producing and is now a housing estate, although they've kept the original building :)
