I can't figure out how to document my works cited, MLA style, for an audio book, on cassette.

    Any suggestions?

    Hey Adryn,

I've been told something different for this by every prof I've ever had ;)

Here are a couple of examples purporting to be MLA Style - Note the differences with underlining the title, adding original date of publication and punctuation.

Baldacci, David. Wish You Well. Read by Helena Bonham Carter. Time Warner Audiobooks, 2000.

Burnett, Frances Hodgson. The Secret Garden. 1911. Read by Helena Bonham Carter. Audiocassette. Penguin-High Bridge. 1993.

I imagine that either example would suffice . . .

    PP :)

Hey....Im working on a research paper myself....so here is what I have...I asked your question im my Comp 2's discussion baord, I was told to use the MLA format that you would use for the book, since it is an audio book. You may even be able to google the book and get better more accurate information. The other option is use the MLA format for Sound Recordings. Also, MLA has a website....it never works for me, might for you though www.mla.org.....When do you have to complete it by? If you still need more info, let me know....Ohh, Watch for my questions also! I have a 10pg research paper due Sat! Have not even written the rough draft, lol.....IM me if you need to...ashlie0728 on yahoo messenger...Good luck** Ashlie~

I have to turn it in by friday, but this is only a precursor. Then I have to find an online source, and prove it to be current, accurate, etc etc. I have to document 5 different sources for my tentative thesis. Then, I have to write an 8-10pg paper on it, due sometime November.

    tangentially

My research project is not for school, so liberties are being taken relative to style. I have broken the bibliography, which is MLA style, into books, periodicals, and internet. References are mostly to images, and citations are quoted in the body of the text like (Eiland pl. 54), with one reference for Eiland in the bibliography.

A teacher taught me that underlined is printer-ese for italics like in html, and I have seen titles, that per MLA, should be underlined printed in italics.

    Re: tangentially

My prof emailed me back. She said to document it like a film, or videocassette.
