Anyone got a pet?

I used to hate cats untill now. I honestly have always hated them, they are full off fleas, they P everywhere. Ive always been more of a dog man. That was untill last year when I got my g/f a kitten, 4 weeks old. He was half the size of my hand! We called him Kurt, after Kurt Cobain(Nirvana)! I cant beleive I have grown to care about the little rat, he fights me like a dog and plays fetch(no bull)! And hes changed the way I think about our little feline freinds. Anyway just wondering if any of you have any pets? I aim to get a dog sometime this year, a staff or something similar too.

Anyway this is my cat, hes no pedigree, but hes a badboy! Beats all the bigger cats up if they come in our garden!!!:-

My housemate is a R.V.N (registered vet tech) so my place is definetly a zoo...

Currently we have

1 macaw parrot
1 parakeet
6 cats (4 outside 2 inside)
1 severly annoyed red setter (see animals above)
12 chicks and 1 mother hen

plus assorted wildlife (turkeys,deer,hogs,)

thats about it, but i think thats enough.

 

We now have four cats - and like Wayne82 I used to dislike cats . . . but my first wife wanted a kitten right after we got married, so we got one from the local shelter. Had that cat for over 16 years. They kinda grow on you, I found.


When my present wife and I married, she had two cats of her own. The kids and I had one cat. Last summer she wanted a kitten ("Please, honey . . . it's been over 10 years since I had a kitten . . . "). I naturally put my foot down and . . . we got a kitten. Now it's a cat . . . sigh.

But I like the 'lil critters . . .

 

We have two cats. We've had up to seven because of kittens, but it's too hard to give them away with mom cat looking at you. We've found that with two, they can entertain themselves...and us. We'd probably have a dog but they're too high maintenance for our lifestyle.

 

Dan (my man) didn't like cats either. We have 2 indoor ( because the outdoor one won't let them come out) one is her baby too. Now he talks to them like they're babies. They do grow on you.

 

I have one cat, was a dog person, but they grow on you, like all animals. Someone has a cute squirrel - forgot who. There is a thread somewhere with a bunch of pics, can't find it, has just about every possible pet in it.

Wow! I thought Id get no replies to this thread, nice cats by the way Darlene and 9-lives.

Me and my g/f have just been getting some sun for a few hours in our back yard, just having a few cold cans and playing with the cats jingly ball. Next doors dog came under the fence it was well funny. The digs smaller than the cat it was yapping and trying to intimidate our cat, our cat was just looking as if to say "what are you doing!?". took a photo on my phone but its not v good so I didnt attach it.

My mates Staffordshire Bull (like a Pitbull but British!), comes round and barks at kurt, kurt chases it all over the house its well funny. I worry I may ave made hime too fearless though sometimes!

Most cats are pretty fearless. Had one years ago the neighbors would take a look to see if she was out to let their cat out. Another neighbor was having cement work done in his yard and the worker brought his Malamute with him. My cat ran over, we couldn't see due to a small hill between the houses but heard the yelps. The worker had to put his dog in his truck, said, "how embarrassing. Actually I was the embarrassed one. Cats are strange.

Yoshi was literally born to me and thinks I'm his mother. Kay Kay is the devil reincarnated, but is the most adorable cat I've ever seen. I'd love to have more cats and dogs but Kay Kay is very territorial and we'd like to keep our carpets. To compensate for lack of pets, I volunteer at the local humane society, however every time I go, I want to take another one home, so it's a little hard.

how nice you volunteer to help with the animals. Pretty hard for a pet lover I imagine wanting to take them home.

 

I've got 1 small dog
5 cats and increasing.....moma cat gets knocked up alomst everyday, like rabbits. Its a good thing the cats live outside.

One black Tortoise shell cat that is keeping my feet warm as I type. One Parakeet. I like dogs, but since there is often no one home, I decided it wouldn't be fair to have one.

 

Has she managed to get you house-trained yet ?

Well, Canary_Joe, I have had vets tell me my mutt is half Lab. I know he is half chow, but the expression on your dog's face is one I have seen countless times on my dog. Just add a bunch of hair! So now I am positive he is half Lab. Nice looking dog you have there, have fun with him.

I have two jack russells, Alfie and Maisie.

Both a year old, they scratch at my door every morning to wake me up, lick me, then go eat something lol

 

I need to get a camera so that I can take photos of my genetic freaks that I call my cats.

 

My 14 year old, 24/7 PMS'ing cat, lol. She has her sensitive and loving moments.

What kinda dog is that musky? Its really nice. I dont think ive seen one before, or maybe I have but not one that good lookin! lol!

Ill get a picture of my girlfreinds aunts Rotweillers when we walk them again, they are beutiful, not my pets but we walk them once a week or so.

 

She's a 4yr old boxer/mountain feist mix. ...and before you ask here's what that looks like

 

Boxers are really nice, I love them full of personality and they stand real proud. Theres a few people around here got them.

Never heard of a mountain feist though, must be rare here. confused

I've got one cat, Felix. He's 14, and I wouldn't know what to do without him. He used to have a twin brother (Sgt. Tibbs), but we lost him a few years ago.

Unfortunately, I can't attach either pic of him I've got on this machine, since I've already used them both here in other pet threads. Oh well.

Heres the pics of my g/f aunts dogs I said Id post. The bigger one is Chelsea, the smaller one is Simba. I tried to get a close up of both but only Chelsea would pose!



Not my pets exactly but we walk them a few times a week. Simba has just had 9 pups, but one died. I want one but we live in a flat and it would be unfair as they are big dogs and need a lot of room.

Have an 8 month old shiz tsu Molly very cute and a true princess. Never had a dog never wanted on allergies and this little lioness bewitched me into taking her home and every day I wonder where my sanity was. She is soooo needy worse than any child must go everywhere with me and gets really pissed off if I leave her. ig responsibility but then again she is hypo allergenic and the first dog i could pat in my many years on earth withoutgetting sick so it is really an experience.
