Anyone hear of sxon.exe in processes?

    Hi all,
    New to this forum. I have a question to anyone who can help. A good friend of mine has been having all kinds of problems with her computer, most notably with popup hell. I've looked over her processes, aside from other things, and one thing has my baffled. It's a process called sxon.exe. I've searched google, yahoo, dogpile, msn, lycos, among others, and no one can give me a single inkling what this process is. I'm stumped. If I lived closer to my friend, I'd be over there and wouldn't quit til I found it out. It says it's a system process, but if it were, it would turn up in some process library somewhere. I'm not afraid to have her disable it, but I just want some clue as to what I might be dealing with here. Any ideas anyone?

    Welcome to MGs!

    There are tens of thousands of unclassified trojans and processes related to malware. Some just create random filenames so anything is possible. From what you have supplied us thus far it is too difficult to tell you anything. Is could be any number of problems that can cause popups. The only way for us to know what it is for sure is to have run run the below.

    Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.


    After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
