Anyone Here Use Winamp?

I was just wondering if anyone here used Winamp instead of WMP or something similar & if so, what are the benefits?

I use winamp for music, because i like the interface better, but use wmp for video, mostly its a personal prefence to which program you prefer.

 

I <3 winamp... winamp 5... I would personally never use WMP for mp3 media...
I like the easilly accessible equalizer control, the ability to right click on songs in your playlist to cue them up to play next, and also the Winamp Media portion that gives you access to thousands of free internet radio to listen to (most of which is commercial free).... You can bookmark your favorite stations and have easy access to them....

i have been using winamp since the beginning and never look back i think for me it's the best program for MP3.

The best version to uses is still 2.91 bug free and not a ressource hog....

I won't even touch the others one....my opinion anyway or my 0.02 cents.

 

Clark... 3 was a huge resource hog...

5 was made more like 2... built on the same platform.... completely diff. than 3... you should check it out....

 

okay i will take a look but pretty happy with 2.91

 

i was a happy 2.xx user as well until i realized the extra features that 5 has. the Enqueue function is great (and yes I'm aware it is available as a plugin for 2.xx). additionally, the extra Visualization support and new version of MilkDrop is wonderful.

I have noticed a little bit more resource usage than with 2.xx, but nothing compared to the horror that was 3.

to answer the original question-- winamp has the most options, ease of use, and is fully customizable to your desire.

I recommend anybody who uses Winamp check out the leoslyrics plugin, it integrates into a winamp style window and finds the lyrics for whatever song you are playing http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=141416
