anyone into american idol?

I dont know....this weeks Idol didnt impress me.Carrie sang a country song I didnt know...it sounded alright. Vonzell sang a song I didnt know either but it sounded good to me!Bo ...didnt know the song it was ok.Anthony...I didnt know the song but to me he actually sounded pretty good! Constantine....that is one of the songs I knew....he didnt impress me either! Scott ? I knew the song I think he sang it well but it's a boring song. The bottom 3? I have no idea who I would pick. I found this week to be pretty boring,zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....................

 

If I was Nickleback I'd be calling my lawyers in the morning

 

Constatine and Scott, I would say, are 2 of the bottom 3 - they did not do well at all last night. If two were eliminated tonight instead of one, then they would go.

Haha! you are funny Lev! Actually...I thought he was bad....I like that song but I didnt like the way he did it.He seemed to have gone downhill after Bohemiam Rhapsody. I'm sorry to see him go But lets face it....He wasnt the best in all the catagories they've done so far.

It surprised me to see that Vonzell was in the bottom #.She sang a difficult song which I think she did the best last night (if I had to pick one).

I still dont know why Scott and Anthony are around.....maybe they got Anwars votes. I just dont know.

I guess now my votes will go for the women...I dont think the guys that are left are good enough!

constantine's...OUT! Well, he did the nickelback song pretty badly. It's the first time a contestant sang a song i know very well (i have the song in my mp3 player) but Constantine's version was really bad compared to the original.

Still, i thought he was gonna be in the top 3 or 4 at least. i agree, scott should have been out.

I gave 2 or 3 votes for Anthony... maybe that's why he's still in! (i also voted for Carrie and Bo)

Thats why I dont think its a true outcome any week cause you can vote for everybody as many times as you want.Thats the big drawback.

I think a telling line this week was Constantine's saying how he would miss the "rest of the cast members". Maybe that's from his theater background, but I thought it an interesting choice of words.

Simon may repeatedly assert, "This is a singing contest", but that's patently untrue. That viewers choose to identify with or root for an individual or group of individuals is what the producers are after. Remember Latoya London? Great singer, no personality. What won that season was Fantasia's mix of singing / underdog-ness (single mom) / outrageous personality. I don't see anyone remaining in this season's running that has all three-- and, in some ways, that's what makes this season the most interesting.

Each of the current season's Top Twelve, including the remaining five, have vocal deficiencies-- none of which can't be overcome by studio wizardry or multiple takes. Any fan of the show will remember Josh Gracin, for example, avoiding the axe for quite a few weeks, regardless of his pitchiness or inability to adapt to various genres. But he has a couple of damn fine sounding singles on the country charts right now.

Nah....I dont even know how he got into the first 12. He's been arrested for domestic violence....maybe thats why he scares you! Just that fact alone, do we really want a guy like that being an American Idol?

I thought Diana De Garmo was sweet...bubbly....young (16 I think). Latoya was great and I remember them saying she had no personality and thats what did her in.

I missed the first year of Idol but have been watching it since.

So....who is it you would pick to win?

 

I have to believe that the "day of the rocker" has not yet arrived for American Idol. So that eliminates Bo Bice. Anthony impressed me this week, and, if he had been this strong from the beginning, he might have had a shot. If we apply the Latoya London theory to Carrie, that eliminates her. Scott may be an underdog, but he lacks the vital component in the equation for success-- personality (more accurately, stage presence). That leaves Vonzell.

Theories aside, I see a Bo/Carrie final two.

p.s. Bigbazza, I've seen the finale of the 2004 Australian Idol. Now that was a singing contest. The top twelve were definitely there for their vocal talent, and not their looks. The final two were a somewhat plump Goth chick and a skinny little guy who was a cross between Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban. Oh, and apparently, Oz Idol hasn't yet seen the wisdom of a single host.

 

I can see a Bo\Carrie final 2. I can also see a Bo\Vonzell final 2. I think Bo may have an edge as a lot of people want to see a rocker win (for a change) tho as much as I like rockers, he doesnt appeal to me. I'd like to see a Carrie\Vonzell final 2!
Anthony I think did well this week tho I didnt know the song. I knew the song Scott sang, I think he did ok with it but those 2 I dont think have it.Moreso Scott then Anthony.

 

It's all very hard to predict, as you have to consider that the audience are first and foremost A.I. fans, who are going to watch -- and, more importantly, vote-- even though their favorites have already been eliminated. For example, where does the Constantine vote go, now that he's gone? Where will the next cast-off's vote go after next week, etc?

Bear in mind, too, the audience's fickle-ness: Constantine had a string of very good performances until the Nickelback debacle-- and their sword was swift and unforgiving. Bo was in the bottom three after Broadway (?) night. The "what have you done well lately" factor is very much a consideration.

 

Yes...they were very unforgiving, I think that Constantines votes will go to Bo. A lot of people want a rocker to win this year,

Bo reminds me of some singer from when I was a little kiddy but I cant remember who. I didnt like that guy either, maybe it was that Blood Sweat and Tears singer....I couldnt stand his voice....lol

This year will be different I'm sure we will be surprised!

I know Bo, hope he wins, you should see the city he's from. Helena, small town the biggest store is a winn-dixie and a Publix.. but every store in the town have huge banners rooting for him even the town hall. Pretty cool how the whole town is rooting for him.. it's actually all the way to Birmingham with the banners but not as dense as in Helena. HAha they had one in Olde Town Helena, the main street stores are still being used from early 1800's remodolled of course tho, but they had a color banner with his picture on it from like high school it was funny, it stayed for a week though.

 

Scott should be out next week (notice how people booed when Scott was in the top 3 and Constantine in the bottom 3?). Constantine fans also probably hold a grudge against Scott now.... But then Scott keeps coming back so i might be worng...again. And I don't think Vonzel can be in the top 2 but she might be in the top 3. I mean, she keeps being in the bottom three and i dont think she has many fans (compared to Bo and Carrie). So i think it's Bo and Carrie who are in the top 2. i'm not sure about Bo but i'm quite sure Carrie's in the top 2.

the surprising thing about Constantine going out is that he's never been in the bottom 3 before (or am i misaken?). And yes, the voters quickly got him out just because of one lousy performance. But then, let's face it, he's not that good vocally.

btw, did u guys see Constantine on the Tonight's Show? Jay Leno also invited Nikko Smith when he got kicked out. I dunno about the rest.

i think he probably has a big family with a million cell phones all subscribed to Cingular service. It's HARD to vote normally without text messaging. You can vote about 10 times by text messaging in the time it takes to vote 1 time by calling. I have to admit i voted for Scott during the first few episodes. (if u saw the auditions, u might have voted for him too). I always voted for Scott, Bo, Anthony and Carrie. But now it's the top 5 and there's not much people left (although all the ppl i voted for are still there ).

YES YES YES! Thats who I meant! The only song I know from B,S & T is Spinning wheels....At least I think they did that song! I was a little young when they were around but my older sister had that album and played it over and over and over....I couldnt stand it!

Tho it goes back a while Bo's voice reminds me of whoever sang the spinning wheel song....It's not that I dont like him, it's just his voice tone-he can sing, I give him that but his voice doesnt grab me, It doesn't speak to me! lol

It's only natural that his hometown would be rooting for him! That must be a great feeling knowing you have all those people there for you and having your picture up all over!
He seems like a sweet guy, he really does, If he came from my town or I knew him personally he'd have my vote! I guess they're all winners just to get this far...Most seem likable types (except Scott). Unfortunately, only one can win.

Back to Scott, at another place I go to and get other Idol opinions a lot of people think guys are voting for him because of his "Bad Ass" reputation...I dont know but wouldnt it be something if he won?!!!!!!

I didn't see some of the auditions last year so i decided to watch every audition this year.
Scott isn't very "likeable" very good at "socializing," that's true. But i thought that he had a great voice when he sang at the auditions. But lately, of course, i've stopped voting for him. He gotta get OFF the show! lol

What kind of music i like? Well, i like all kinds. I like to say i'm into alternative rock and that's mostly true but i also like pop songs (mostly due to my friends' influence.) I like Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, Nickelback, Evanescence, Maroon 5, some Puddle of Mudd songs, even Avril Lavigne and.... i can't think of anything else right now. I also listen to some hip-hop. But my favs are Linkin Park and Evanescence.

you listen to k-rock? which station is that? I listen mostly to Z-100 and if i don't like to song, i switch to 95.5FM or 92.3FM. (I don't know the names of those stations). Radio is probably the only way i'm updated on music because the only things that come on MTV nowadays are reality shows. lol

Do you get the Newsday? They had an article on Idol...How people thought Constantine was a shoo in so they didnt vote? And how people feel sorry for Scott and thats why he's still there...getting sympathy votes cause he has such a hard life? (gimme a break!) Apparently, Bo had been arrested for possesion of cocaine a couple years ago then charged again recently for marijuana possesion? Supposedly plead guilty to 2 misdemeanors just this past December.
Constantine will be putting album out with his band so it's not the last we will be hearing from him! GOD! He's so sexy! lol!

Yeah, i think the way Simon told Scott "I'd be packing your suitcase" might have given Scott some "sympathy" votes.
Remember last year's Jasmine Trias? She is always cheerful and always smiling. But during one performance,she did badly and all the judges including Paula made harsh statements about her. Tears soon rolled down her eyes and that got her MANY votes. I know i gave her 3. I guess that's a good example of "sympathy" votes. (Wasn't that when Lotoya London got booted off instead of Jasmine?)

No i don't get Newsday... So Bo has a "criminal" record, huh? Wasn't Paula also arrested or something earlier in the season for drunk driving (or something like that)? The media loves to bring out the worst in people!

Constantine is going back to his band? His "song style" must be a bit "different" now, don't u think? He has been performing kinda "pop-ish" songs on Idol but with his band he sings heavy metal songs. Simon said something like "It's like Star Wars. You're no longer in the dark side. You're on the 'light' side now." Lol! Only Simon can come up with the weirdest and funniest comments.

I go to Manhatten usually a few times a year...mainly to the theatre. Ever see the rocky horror picture show? that was great, saw it twice! Last time I was in the city had to be a year ago...saw Boy Georges Taboo, that was great. He sings well I was impressed!
My boyfriend would get so P.O.d at me last year since I was voting For Jasmine and Diana.Jasmine has a nice voice, with more training she can go places.She had a pretty voice! You know...sweet!

I dont remember Paula Abduls DWI stuff, but I remember recently them saying (on the news) that she's always in pain but I didnt listen to what was going on with her.

Hey, I voted for Diana and Jasmine last year too! (i think i alreadi mantioned that, right?) Anyway, i didn't vote much last year but i all my votes went to Jasmine Trias. When she went out, i voted for Diana. I know, Jasmine looks very friendly, cheerful, nice, sweet, etc. That's part of the reason i voted for her.

i dont remember but when they get down to the final 3 dont they allow them to go home and then they show the place where they live and how their town is rooting for them? I remember that with Diana and Fantasia and I'm pretty sure they did it with Jasmine also.

I thought that the biography of Paula was rather interesting.. i didn't know she went thorugh so much before becoming one of the judges of AI. She even survived a plane crash.. i didn't know that.
The thing i found interesting about Simon's biography was when they showed him as one of the judges of Pop Idol (the British version before AI). He wasn't allowed to be "mean" and he was trying to restrain himself from saying something offending to the contestant... he said that not being able to say what he wanted was "killing him."

ya, they do show the hometowns of the top 3. They are stars of their hometowns... Alright! tomorrow's tuesday!
