LOL! I didnt know that Paula was in a plane crash...I guess they didnt mention why she has chronic pain (maybe from the plane crash....hehe I"m so bad.....). I've heard that info on Simon tho. I really feel he makes the show more interesting, I dont always agree with him tho....

I like the lounge, I was on it several hours this past weekend. Other than the lounge and playing the games...what area do you like to hang around at? I wouldnt be looking for computer info as my son does everything. Is there like a sports area to go to? I really wouldnt know where else to go...

You could say that of any of the previous seasons-- no point in trying to make this one unique. Nor the next, for that matter.

The one thing I will say about this final five is they certainly are different from eachother this go-round-- no "three divas" to choose from this year. You either like the style or the singer-- there's very little overlap.

 

Yea Arsenal did win it last year and Chelsea this year, next year Man U will be back we had too many injuries this year and the team couldn't get it together until the end.I live in Long Beach Ca.THE L.B.C. as they call it we have the Galaxy and Chivas U.S.A.,but I don't watch too much of the M.L.S. (minor league of soccer)

Sorry, I didn't push any smilie buttons-- I was only half-joshing with you. You came into this thread so late, and so over-the-top. But, to call them "horribly untalented" is really unfair. If any top-40 artist today had to be judged as an unknown on this same stage based on a single, live performance, I think there's a very good chance they might get "voted off", too.

Usually, i dont have much time so i just look at this thread and reply. if i'm free, i hang around in the lounge and the "interesting links" section. I dont go anywhere else (once or twice, i went to the game section). Also, I haven't made a thread for a looooong time!

i dunno what to think either! Anthony and Scott are in my bottom 3 but i dunno the other one. I thought Vonzell did very well on the second song but it contradicted with what Simon said so i dunno what to think!

I dont think they're horrible. Maybe one can say that Scott is not very good but i think the rest are good. Carrie and Bo and Vonzel - i think they're great! (especially Carrie.. )

Who were you expecting to be in the top 5? Constantine?? To be honest, i don't really like his voice... Just my opinion!

that's true. they're all different.. Last year, the top 3 sang pretty much the same music genre.

Chelsea won this year?? Aw, man! Yeah, i did see a few beginning Man United matches.. i saw a bunch of new unknown people playing and important players missing.. *sigh* i need to get back into watching soccer someday.. maybe when the world cup starts in...2006?

I believe you said that you have only missed the first season of Idol....Dont you find tho that the song choices this year have been a little boring? These last couple of weeks I have to admit I'm bored with the songs. Last year seemed to me to be more entertaining. Or is it just me?
I'm not saying that they are untalented, just the songs they pick seem to be 'safe'. They need to sing more upbeat songs that can show off their voices.

 

Supposedly there's a rumor that Paula is seeing Constantine!
I guess that's going around since there seems to be another story that Paula was dating and trying to help one of the past losers....telling him how he could win? (guess that didnt work hehe!)
I think Prime Time was doing a story on it tonite but I missed it.
I do think Paula is to easy on the contestants. Maybe it's me but I tend to think she favors the males over the females.......

 

Given a song that suits their voice and its range-- however limited-- each can turn in a worthy performance. If I'm being honest (where have I heard that before?), though, I think it's that each one of them has something about them that detracts from them being the overall package:

Carrie: Did you catch that goofy, out-of-place smile in the middle of last night's performance?

Bo: Lest we forget, this show originated as Pop Idol-- I'm not sure that, ultimately, it will ever be Rock Idol. Maybe they could have a different show for that.

Anthony: If only every song had nothing but a range of those few notes that make him sound like Jon Secada.

Vonzell: I actually think she has the least amount of shortcomings. If this is all about talent, personality, look, and showmanship, somebody tell me why she shouldn't win.

Scott: Well, maybe it is time for him to go home.

I knew they were fooling around...I said to my boyfriend that where ever they place Carrie, that group is safe! Sure enough!

In a way it kind of reminds me of last year......I kept waiting for that red haired kid to be gone....And this time it seemed just as long to get Scott out of there....

 

Had I known that Scott and Anthony were gonna sing, I would've tuned in for the last couple of minutes!
I wouldn't count Vonzell out of the picture yet! I think out of most of them, she picked songs that showed off her voice, she was more daribg!

Nope! You didn't read it wrong! (MA) I typed it wrong! I was trying to say that had I known Scott and Anthony were going to be in the bottom 2, I wouldnt have tuned in until the last couple of minutes! I do not care for them, really right from the get go. Constantine was my choice!
I keep on missing the shows that Constantine is making appearances on.....DARN!

Fantasia is a good singer, just not my preference....

Do you find that the themes they're doing this year are a bit boring? I remember they had disco nite, latin night last year, I think maybe a motown night too. (OR SOUL).
I hope the theme next week is better than what it has been!

Yeah. I remember they had Donna summer,Gloria Estafan, even that guy who did Kill Bill as a guest judge (to promote his new movie of course).
This year they had Hall and oates in the audience but nothing really going on.

i don't find anything wrong with the contestants this season. they are all talented. maybe scott is boring but that's not enough to turn this show absolutely boring. Last year, john stevens, the red hair kid, was boring too. but that didn't make the show boring...

I agree. there's not enough guest appearances and stuff.

another thing i notice is that this season, they don't really show the contestants' backgrounds like last year. Last year it was also interesting when they showed, from time to time, all the contestants living in the special AI house. you're right about the themes too. it's slightly boring.
my point is that i don't think the contestants are boring, it's the stuff i mentioned above and more which are making people complain that this season is boring.

Me, i'm not a complainer and so i dont find any problem with the show. I started watching AI last year. before that, i barely knew what kind of a show it was (i wasn't in the US yet). But when i watched it, i got hooked to it. during that time, i looked forward to Tuesday everyday because it's just a joy to see the contestants perform. I mean, i respect people's opinions (well, some) but i dont get it how they can find the show "boring"...

 

is that what's going on with paula? because i've seen a couple of newspaper headlines saying things like: "Paula maybe the next to be booted off the show" i didn't feel like reading so i didn't know what the headlines meant.
the way she cried when he was booted probably proves that she's seeing constantine... or maybe not.. i dunno

I think the show is lacking in something this year, I dont know if it's the themes,or celebrity guest judges etc. I just thought it was more interesting last year.

I dont know if you watched Prime Time the other night.Nothing was mentioned about her seeing Constantine, tho it wouldnt surprise me the way she carried on when he lost.
They didnt say anything pertaining to Paula getting kicked off tho they probably wouldnt mention that either.
In Primetime she gave this guy her phone number, she bought him clothes to wear on the show,told him songs to sing etc. when he got kicked off Idol for not putting on his application that he was arrested she ended the relationship.
They tried to get hold of her to comment on his story but she declined.
I havent looked at the paper to see any article about Paula, I'm very behind in my reading!

I personally would not pay to hear any of them sing except perhaps the country chick. Then again i haven't paid to hear any of the last winners and losers either. I enjoy the show though Much more into the Amazing Race though.

 

Gosh, it's been so long since I've watched Seinfeld! I'm still trying to get all the X-Files dvds.Those box sets cost a lot of money. Then maybe I'll look into Seinfeld, who knows how many sets there is of those!

 

If someone treated me to see past Idol winners or losers, I would go....I dont think I would cough up the money myself. Ummmmm........except to see Constantine!

I dont watch too much TV these days, is The Amazing Race one of those reality shows? I've heard that name somewhere before, I'm not into reality shows tho on occasion I'll watch that nanny one cause I do find it funny!
