Pardon my stupidity, are you saying you have 3 seasons so far, or is that all there is?

 

Far as I know just 3 seasons. That's what the major is waiting on, the next batch.

Wow! I thought they had only 7 seasons tops! I think I only started to watch that show in its second or third season. Maybe that's why I'm thinking 7 at the most.

American Idol last night.....I only knew the country songs that the gals sang. I thought Carrie did well with the Dixie Chicks song...she's meant to be a country singer. The song Vonzell sang...I dunno, I'm up in the air with that one.
The guys, they seemed to be ok. I'm not familiar with the songs they sang.

The second time around, I wasnt crazy over the way Carrie sang that song.If I'm not mistaken, Anthony sang the same song also. I wasn't thrilled with him either. Vonzell did a lot better the second time around. I have to say that I liked Bo the best.He did that money song great! Like Jackson said, he should put that song on the cd. I would definetly give him best performance of the night. The best he ever done!

I would put Anthony and Vonzell as the bottom 2 this week.Only because I feel Carrie did that country song great and Bo did the money song great.

Now come on MA! there's only 2 weeks to go! Hang in there!

 

Just an afterthought.....did anyone think that when Vonzell stood before the judges after singing her first song (when Paula asked her how she was) and she started to cry, that maybe she did that for some possible sympathy votes?
I'd like to think that she was sincere, but I think she will get some sympathy votes!

 

No I don't. Her voice was shaky through the song...she was clearly not singing at her usual standard, and I believe Paula asked her how she was feeling to allow her the opportunity to state that her day had been hard. Had she been playing on sympathy votes she would have told us the actual reason she was upset...that would get far more sympathy voting than a few tears with no reason IMHO

 

Yes, she was a little shaky....and the pressure is on. I wonder though if that's what saved her this week, not that I thought Anthony was that great either.


It's down to the nitty gritty now....(wasn't there a band called 'the nitty gritty dirt band?') I dont think the voters are going to sympathize if anyone makes a mistake next week. It will be real interesting now that Anthony is gone.tho if Vonzell doesn't put on a good show next week, she'll probably be the next one to go.

 

hey, i just watched the Tonight's Show..

Anthony Federov was there.
i knew he was gonna go out this time. the others are better than him. What i dont get though, is why people keep saying that he's not good. I know why: people just dont like his backstreet boy/clay aiken look and his popish songs...

anyway, i like this year's top 3 better than last year's....

Yeah the computer is fine,but I still have a minor problem with it I think I can take care of it,but if not that's what this board is for!

 

I think Anthony sings ok.....my boyfriend thinks he's great! I think maybe more like Simon would say.....a wedding singer. He's not bad, like you say the other 3 are better.
A lot of people like pop songs. I dont think that's it, maybe more the Clay Aiken look has something to do with it. I think if he had some more training, he could make it as a singer,at times he was a bit off.

I dont know if I like this years last 3 better than last years, I liked Diana De Garmo better than the 2 gals this year, I do like the idea that there's a rocker this year tho.......

 

i guess i like this year's top3 better becoz i like everyone in it. Last year i didn't like fantasia.... (and she won!)

 

Bo or Carrie to win, don't mind which.

I dont care for Fantasia either ( my parents say that she ruins the songs she sings,,,lol ), But I liked Diana DeGarmo so much that she makes up for Fantasia, and I liked Jasmine.

Idol Question

Hi everyone,

I'm a writer for a North Fork newspaper on Long Island (Suffolk County) and I'm working on a story about American Idol. I'm writing about how it's swept the country, and how it's got families bonding and sharing a television experience again. Everyone I've spoken to, those with kids, say they watch it together, and the whole family votes.

Here's my question: Are any of you from the North Fork, anywhere from Wading River to Orient Point? If you are, would you want to talk to me for the story, about why you watch Idol? Also, I'm interested in knowing if there are any AI office pools anywhere out here or on Long Island in general.

Welcome to MG! If you have read this page you will see I'm fairly new myself!
I live in Nassau county, I'm pretty sure Hithere lives in Manhatten, anyone else who has answered this thread I believe lives outside NY. I dont know of any office pools around here tho I'm self-employed so I dont have dealings with those type of things! If you need any questions answered maybe someone else who reads this can get back to you. Or if you want a Nassau county point of view you can always leave message here or IM me at this name! Forgot to mention this to you, but if you are still having problems with your computer that you can't figure out on your own and you can't get a solution on the message board, bring your question over here and I will show it to my son. He's one of those who can take a computer apart and put it back together again, can fix whatever's wrong with this computer and his!

 

Well tonite I think the only one that was shaky is Vonzell. Her first song was so-so but after that she did great! Carrie and Bo were fantastic! I think Vonzell will be the one to go tomorrow, unless those Anthony fans decide to vote for her! It'll be sad to see her go.....

 

Well, I have to say it was much more fun leaning over the hood of my hubby's pickup in the dark playing "find the misfire" together. Think we will do the same tomorrow night, except for the last 10 seconds of AI

Nah, it's just a "vehicle" to sell Fords. I have, this year, heard three contestants from three different [manufactured] reality/contest shows refer to their fellow competitors as "the other cast members". That says it all. Although I will say I am less excited (if that's even the right word) about this year's final two over past seasons. With Fantasia, it wasn't so much a matter of if she would win, but by how much. I'd have to say, to date, the season I liked best was #2.

anyway, MA, it IS a singing compitition. No offence to u or anyone but i thought Constantine's voice.... well.... i didn't like it at all. If he won it wouldn't be a singing compitition... just some "look" competition.. bo, carrie and vonzell... they're all GREAT!

 

I think I liked last year better!

 

So who do you think will win? I'm up in the air....I can see Bo winning being he would be the first rocker to do so, on the other hand...Carrie, well she can sing too! I think it's up for grabs. It's not going to be a blowout like last year.
I dont think it will matter if either of them make a mistake, I'm sure everyone knows who they will be voting for next week so mistakes or not...I feel people's minds are made up already.

I remember that so it's a good thing that he doesnt make the decision on who will be the next Idol. I dont know what his hangup is but as I said before, it's like a breath of fresh air seeing these rockers, it added some spice to the show I think!
I liked Constantine best also. I thought he was a great all around singer, He knew how to dress, the songs to pick.and how to look in the camera with that sexy smile...(sigh). Glad I took some pics of him with my camera phone!

 

I think you're right, MA. I would say that Bo has the stage presence and can really own the stage and crowd. Carrie, though a great singer, doesn't quite have that those qualities, and is a bit stiff when she does anything kind of body movement while singing.

 

And now he has Lynyrd Skynyrd on his side how could he possibly lose!!! His next song should be one of theirs, dedicated to Carrie....."What's your name?" hehe.

Having said all that I still think America will vote cute Carrie in as #1

 

Here in Australia, we are a couple of days behind in the American Idol episodes. Vonzel got the flick last night, down to 2, as you know. Shame, I liked her. Bazza

She had a pretty voice but not good enough as the other 2. I liked her too!

I know there either is or was a Pop Idol show somewhere, I don't look at American Idol as a show looking for pop singers, I look at it as a show looking for.....well.....just singers. America! A little bit of everything!
