anyone into american idol?

I have a friend who had a problem with Fantasia being the "American Idol" because she is an unwed single mother. I reminded him that the title was only devised to differentiate the show from the original "Pop Idol", nothing more.

 

Unfortunately,there are a lot of unwed mothers in America! But this show is about singing, not their personal lives. Not that I'm a Fantasia fan, I'm glad people didn't let the fact that she 's an unwed mother decide how they voted.
I guess it did come from Pop Idol but I still see it as a little bit of different types of music.Afterall, pop is not the only type of music they sing on the show. Like America, a little bit of everything! A good singer should be able to sing a lot of types of music.

 

I agree...it is about music not personal lives, but before anyone judges an unwed mother they need to remember that it may be through no fault of their own that they are unwed. The guys get a say in it too

 

Yup! It's funny that you always hear of unwed mothers, And some people talk down about them, so why is it they hardly ever mention the guy that gets them pregnant? It takes two!

Anyone watch the American Idol worst auditions? I thought it was funny when they showed some people being told they were no good and these people turned around questioning why the judges thought they were no good. (and they WERE horrible) It makes you wonder that when these people see themselves auditioning on tape, do they still think they are good? LOL

 

i think i will vote for.... BOTH! Lol... that's really dumb... 2 votes: one for each...

Star Wars? I arrived a bit late and so i got a bad seat. But the movie was AWESOME!! too bad it's the last one....

 

It's senseless for people to vote if they are gonna vote for both! hehe! But I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of people do! It should be a good show tomorrow though.

I've been hearing the Star Wars movie was great. Guess I have to go get the other 2 videos and watch them before I see this movie! (I have heard that the 2 before this weren't so great, that's why I haven't seen them).

 

Tonite's show was great. I would give the first round to Bo, second round is a toss up, third round to Bo. I felt that Carrie was pitchy on her first and last songs. I think though that the people that voted for Vonzell will most likely vote for Carrie so I pick her as the winner!

 

i've voted for Bo 7 times so far....

at first i was split becoz both were so good! i like them equally but for some reason i decided to vote for Bo...

whoever wins, i don't care. they both deserve it...

my prediction: i am 85% sure that Carrie is going to win...

 

Too bad if Bo wins, we won't know if it's by 7 votes lol!

 

why, why, why, why do people say that episode 1 and 2 aren't good????

it's the old star wars fans who say that... they like the "originals" better... the ones made in the 70's, with not so much special effects.. I've watched all of the old ones too and i like them too. But when episode 1 came out, i loved it even more...

i thought that they were great! they were spectacularly made and a lot of time and effort were put into the making of the movies..

anyways...

 

I saw the original Star Wars movies (not in the order they came out tho) and from what I remember I thought the special effects were good back then! I guess they could only improve in 30 years! Must get to the video store this weekend! I hope it rains! lol

 

well, the special effects were great back then but i mean the 3 new movies are FULL of special effects....

actually, i dont know why some people like the old ones better... i guess i'm in the 'new generation' so i like the new movies better..

 

Tonight, it was a tough call. Each one equally out-performed the other on the "original songs". Bo shined on one while Carrie out-shined him oppositely on the other-- so that was a wash. That left their "favorite" pick-- I thought Carrie screwed up, and should have done "Crying", instead, as Simon suggested. Therefore, the victory goes to Bo.

you could be right,since I haven't seen them I can't compare. Do you have all the dvds from these movies? I have the first three on vcr tapes. Guess when I see all the movies, and this one comes out on dvd, Ill look for the whole set, it be a lot cheaper!

 

I was disappointed with Bos' song choice. I felt he should of sang 'for the love of money'. He got a standing ovation for that one. Even I was impressed!

In retrospect, I think they chose their finale songs for the "positiveness" of them. Agreed, For the Love of Money was a great performance, but it is, after all, a cautionary tale about the evils of greed (no matter how The Apprentice edits it to put a spin on the message).

I'm glad it wasn't my decision alone to make! I was up in the air. Good for Carrie! They say next year nbc ( I think it's nbc) will show the lost series at the same time Idol is on.Try and mess up Idols' ratings!

What to watch? I'm absolutely lost! I think a lot of shows are at their end for the season. I don't like this time of year TV wise, a lot of repeats soon to come. If you hear of or see anything worth watching, let me know!

Then when I answered word game I get another message which was you on this thread, then I get another message whick I haven't looked at yet but I think it's you back at the word game! Yup, the word game gets our posts up, by the end of this week we should make Seargeant! I've noticed that computer guy that goes on that thread too, he only joined last month , have you seen how many posts he has?! Wow! I bet a lot of it is from the word game also!

Actually, someone signed me up to MG. I dunno what he did, I dont get all the emails...it's like every other one. I've only put up 2 threads since I joined, this one going the longest but soon will end being Idol is over!
I only started the word game this past weekend, surprisingly I never looked at it before! I do get a lot of emails from that thread, I'm on and off all day but when I sit in front of the computer, I delete the emails as I go, I could'nt even guess how many I get since I started doing that word game!

 

As I figured... subscribing to the word game thread would probably lead to about ... ummm 100 emails a day? I dunno about you, but that would annoy me a bit. You probably know this already, but there is a way to turn off the email alerts.

 

Well, I guess it does get annoying but not for the reason you think! When I'm not home, it don't matter, when I am and I hear it go off, it's like I GOTTA SEE WHAT IT IS! Ever since I play that word game, well, it's like an addiction! I can't seem to ignore it! I've been late to work cause I have to see what the next word is, late to bed, You get the picture! I'm not accomplishing anything these days cause of that game! lol

I should turn off the alert, I'd accomplish some work that has to be done!

I haven't seen the Star wars yet but I did see The Longest Yard. (I never saw the first one) If you like funny movies and football (and Adam Sandler of course) it's a must see! It was great! That star is a cowboy star...my favorite team!
I'm off most Mondays from work so today I took the time to thank my lucky stars for those who are and was fighting for this country. Amen to them!

We have an Icelandic IDOL and we can watch the american.

Iceland holds alot of IDOL fans.
I geuss its an okey show but noone there can sing... just terrible music.

 

Are you talking American Idol has bad music or your Idol over there? AI is mostly pop music.
