Nope, haven't paid any attention to the Olympics since the skier wiped out on the slope and ended up on the Wide World of Sports intro for 30 years.

I'm saving all my attention for the real sporting event, this June...!:)

No, seriously, I'll certainly catch some of the Olympics. The Hockey mainly. But I don't have cable, so I'll have to rely on CBC.

Hockey for sure, and if I'm lazy enough, I like to watch a good strategic curling game.

It doesn't hold a lot of interest for me. Frankly, I've got better things to do than watch somebody/team win a medal, so that they can become millionaires, endorsing Cheerios for the next ten years, or so.

I'm sure it's great for the participants, but it doesn't hold much relevance to my life.

    I like the Olympics. :)

I will watch the Hockey for sure and usually get caught up in a couple of other events.

I would like to officially apologise for the outfits worn by the Canadian team at the opening ceremonies. I'm sorry. Very, very, sorry.

Hmmm, I seen them! yikes!!

P.S Your Sig. Should read : "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decadent and degraded state of the Canadian Olympic Team’s uniforms, which thinks that nothing else is worth waring is much worse!!!"

    Heh!, heh! ;)

Yeah, no doubt I will catch some of the events as the BBC do generally have good coverage.

I do like the Curling events.

I enjoy some of it, particularly the snowboarding, everyone's at the slopes watching it when it's on so I usually join them watching the GB snowboard team go!

I don't watch the Olympics like I used to.
When I was young, they were wonderful. Was mostly "every day" people trying their best.
Since the pros can compete now, it just isn't the same.

    My 2 cents.

I hear the US greedy money makers put the Olympics on time delay so you can watch it "live" in prime time, many hours after the event. In OZ we have rules that certain programs must remain on free to air TV, like the Footy grand finals (various codes), the Melbourne Cup, the test cricket, etc. The important ones are usually telecast live, no matter what time it happens to be in OZ. So we are up at all hours of the early morning watching live stuff from various countries as it happens.

Makes no difference; no one is watching it here in prime time, not likely anyone would get up at 4:00am to watch it in "real time".

Pewty, you mentioned the embarassment of the Canadian uniforms; I'd like to apologize for Bode Miller being an arrogant ass and the female athlete yakking on her cellphone while walking in the parade during opening ceremonies. I wish Cheney would take them both hunting so they could be shot & mounted on Garrick's wall...

It's interesting and I like to watch them at night, when they show all the reruns. But I'm not a huge fan.

    I'm waiting for baseball! :D

Man, we used to have the 'Roots' look, now the US has them.

On the live coverage, the CBC has great live coverage as the daily sched has been preempted for the most part. They claim over 1000 hours coverage this time around.

TSN our cable sports outlet is showing most if not all Canadian curling events. I was up at 3 AM watching Canada against GBR. Anyways, obviously for people who work will not see anything live except on the weekends.
